How to Tap Into Your Psychic Self

Learning how to tap into your intuition is critical for psychic development.

Your intuition can be a powerful tool if we can learn to master it. Not only can it be extremely helpful to you in all kinds of situations, it can potentially be used to help you to better identify and deal with important life issues that you may otherwise overlook.

Being able to effectively tap into one’s intuition is also an essential skill for anyone who wants to become a psychic. While it may be true that there are no set rules that work for everyone when it comes to improving their intuitive abilities, there are a number of exercises you can try that will hopefully bring positive results.

What’s more, these exercises designed to boost our intuitiveness are free, enjoyable, and can be virtually anywhere and at anytime.

We all have intuitive powers. Mostly we pick up evidence through our five senses – we consciously notice the clues in how we feel, and what we see, hear, touch, and taste. But have you ever had that ‘aha!’ moment where your conscious mind is distracted from the task in hand? Maybe you are taking a shower, waiting for the kettle to boil, laughing and joking with friends. But suddenly, out of nowhere, you get a new and profound insight that helps you solve a problem you’ve been chewing over for ages!

Intuition is incredibly valuable for supportive awareness and can provide you with solutions that are light years better than some of the solutions you analyze and agonize over.

Trusting your instincts, living with a light touch, and tapping into the power of relaxed focus are some of the most effective ways to become more intuitive and can really benefit the quality of the decisions you make in your life.

Thin-slicing is the way in which humans often instinctively come to make decisions and judgments within seconds. Thin-slicing means that you quite unconsciously make intuitive assessments about something or someone from tiny bits of information, often in what feels like a nanosecond.

For example, you might meet someone for the first time and instantly just know that something isn’t quite right, that you don’t quite trust that person. You pick up cues that you don’t even notice on a conscious level and later you may find the tangible evidence that backs up your intuitive flash.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that you should always trust your first impressions – whole romantic dramas warn you of that danger! But it does mean that listening to what your instincts tell you may often work better for you than trying to analyze and gather facts.

How then can you use your own natural sense of curiosity to further develop intuition and your psychic abilities? Unfortunately, improving your own intuition can be one of those elusive skills that defies a structured approach to master. However, you may be able to more finely tune your intuition is with these suggestions:

  • Start by trying to make predictions about everyday occurrences.
  • For example, ask yourself who’s on the end of the phone when it rings and note how often you’re right. You may find your hit rate starts to improve for no reason other than that you’re focusing on it.
  • Becoming more present-centered assists you in tuning out conscious thought and tapping into what’s going on in your unconscious – the source of your intuition. There are many ways to improve your self-awareness including reading books on the subject, practicing certain types of yoga, or even trying psychic meditation.
  • Finally, simply notice what results you get over time when you ‘go with your gut’ compared to the times when you carefully weigh up evidence. Do you see any trends developing?

Remember that your intuition can work in different ways. Some psychics may get a gut feeling while others may get a strong emotion. Some psychics have actual visions while others find that they just “know” things that seemingly pop into their conscious out of nowhere. Pay close attention to what your intuition is telling you and learn to read what’s it’s say to you!
